UNJURY diets after Lap-Band surgery

Unjury protein supplements are an excellent post-op food source. Unjury protein supplement is a thick liquid that will help you feel full, and allow you to lose weight. It comes in five flavors (Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry Sorbet, Chicken Broth, and Unflavored). We allow our patients to use this drink for the first week after surgery. We recommend it be used over the first six weeks after Lap-band surgery. Unjury protein supplements are available through our office.

The UNJURY flavors mixed as suggested are allowed on a Clear Liquid Diet

  • UNJURY Strawberry Sorbet mixed in water
  • UNJURY Unflavored mixed in Clear Liquid beverages
  • UNJURY Chicken Broth Flavor mixed in warm (not hot) water
  • UNJURY Hi-Protein Jell-O  Recipe

FULL LIQUID DIET

All UNJURY flavors mixed as suggested below are allowed on a Full Liquid Diet

  • UNJURY Chocolate or Vanilla mixed in skim milk, soy milk or Lactaid milk or (not hot) coffee -- decaf or regular.
  •  Vanilla UNJURY mixed in orange flavored beverages or juices for a dreamsicle taste.
  • Strawberry Sorbet UNJURY mixed in water, sugar free lemonade or skim milk, soy milk or Lactaid milk.
  •  UNJURY Chicken Broth Flavor mixed in warm (not hot) water.
  • Unflavored UNJURY mixed in beverages (e.g. Crystal Light), warm soups.
  • Vanilla UNJURY mixed in cereals such as cream of wheat or oatmeal.
  • UNJURY Hi-Protein Jell-O  Recipe
  • UNJURY Hi-Protein Pudding  Recipe

PUREED FOOD DIET

Any of the UNJURY choices from the clear liquid or full diet are allowed on a pureed diet.

Here are some additional ideas:

  • Use Chicken Broth Flavor UNJURY (mixed in warm water) in place of water when pureeing vegetables or chicken.

SOFT FOOD DIET

All of the UNJURY choices from the above are allowed on a Soft diet.

  • Use Chicken Broth Flavor UNJURY (mixed in warm water) to moisten soft vegetables and soft cooked chicken.
  • Mix Chicken Broth Flavor UNJURY (mixed in warm water) in place of milk or water when making mashed potatoes.
  • Add pasta and soft cooked vegetables, such as carrots or peas, to prepared Chicken Broth Flavor UNJURY.

REGULAR FOOD DIET

To prevent weight regain, use 1-2 scoops of UNJURY daily on an on-going long term basis.

 

This diet does not provide adequate vitamins and minerals to meet daily requirements.  A multi-vitamin is recommended daily.  If milk intake is limited, Calcium supplementation is recommended
